Keeping the Faith
Nadine was sitting in the kid’s room.
She was encouraging Domino.
“I have faith that you can stay dry all night tonight.”
Pondering that statement, Sophie asked, “What does ‘having faith in someone‘ mean?”
“Well, you believe in someone who they can do something.”
Sophie quipped back, “I don’t have faith in him.”
“Mommy, I have faith in you. You cook really good food. Hmmmm, Daddy, not so much.”
“Sophie, don’t tell Daddy that.”
She kindly reminded her. “You remember those really salty pancakes he made. But he makes really good bacon. Even better than you Mom.”
We now have faith that Sophie will be completely honest with her feelings about our cooking if there was ever any doubt.
